Children will enjoy a world of fun this holiday while learning Spanish. International language and culture will come to life through hands-on projects, stories, songs, games and outdoor fun with our natively-fluent staff.
Whether learning a new language or already fluent, campers will love our summer traditions of field days, field trips, performances, and more!
- Small groups with teachers
- Fun outdoor and indoor activities (songs, crafts, games, sports, and more)
- Cultural performances
- Special classes with trained specialists- yoga, sports & games, music & movement
- Exciting field days (water balloon toss, relay races, and more)
- Fun, cultural music and movement classes for all campers!
We’re so proud of our summer camp staff! All of our teachers and staff members are dedicated to providing a fun, safe, and welcoming camp environment for your child.
Our camp teachers come from all over the world and have native-level fluency of the languages they teach. Most are also teachers at The International School during the school year or have taught with our camp programs in the past. They have a wealth of experience working with young language learners.
Our summer administrative team is here to answer questions and facilitate a smooth camp experience. Let us know how we can help!
We are all trained in CPR and first aid. The International School also has a dedicated Health and Safety Coordinator on campus during camp hours to help ensure the health and safety of our campers.
2017 Camps Themes
Each session the separate camp groups (colors) follow the same themes, with activities tailored specifically to campers’ age and fluency level (see above chart for details). Kids in the Green Camp will use their advanced language skills to complete a themed collaborative project by the end of the session.
Session 1 (June 26 – July 7 – no camp July 4): The Sky’s The Limit!
Calling all aspiring pilots, astronauts, and flying animals. Come soar with us through air and space! This session explores man-made, natural, and mythical ways to take to the skies. Hands-on activities, games, and more will teach campers about different things that fly, all while being immersed in their target language. Campers will apply their learning and their imaginations to build flying creations of their own!
Session 2 (July 10 – July 21): It’s Showtime!
It’s your time to shine! Visual and performing arts are used around the world as a means of expression. In this session, campers will explore language and culture through art forms such as Japanese bunraku, Chinese fan dance, and Latin American street performance. Interactive projects and artist visits throughout the session will entertain, educate, and inspire. Campers will also create an act or exhibit of their own in their target language for an end-of-session showcase!
Session 3 (July 24 – August 4): Kids Around the World
Did you know that Greek kids throw their baby teeth on the roof for good luck? Or that burping is considered good manners in Turkey? This session explores the daily lives of children around the world, and how their customs compare and contrast to our own. Through traditional songs, stories, games, and more, campers will experience how kids play sports, eat, sleep, go to school, and have fun! Kids are kids – wherever they are!
